The John V. Roach Honors College offers students an educational experience of the finest quality, as well as unparalleled opportunities for intellectual and personal growth through our co-curricular programs. This TCU Gives Day, you have the opportunity to designate your gift to one of six fund opportunities that support our students’ journey of academic excellence.
One of the most generous gifts you can give is unrestricted support. This is a fund that allows the College to address opportunities as they arise. There is no gift more important than the gift of flexibility. This fund allows development funds for a professor’s far-reaching new Honors course, funding that allows an Honors student to present their research at a national conference, and much more. We appreciate your support of the John V. Roach Honors College’s greatest needs.
Honors Explorations are offerings that provide our students with an opportunity to expand their global perspective. Each course is carefully crafted to challenge students’ thinking about the world in which they live. From London, England to Tokyo, Japan, and beyond, our students are taking the world by storm. Help make these opportunities available to more students.
The Honors Innovation Fund is designed to tackle big ideas. If a research project has gone well, and needs a substantial investment to have a second stage, the Innovation Fund is tapped. Each year, this fund is utilized to further just a couple of large projects that have great scope and breadth. Supporting the Innovation Fund ensures we remain nimble and innovative.
This Honors colloquium offers students an opportunity to act as a Foundation and direct support to not-for-profit organizations. Since its inception in 2011, students have made an impact on the operations of dozens of community organizations as they learn about the importance of philanthropy and ways they can change the world.
Undergraduate research is a pillar of the Honors experience. As high-achieving students work to answer a question or complete a project outside of the classroom, they strive to satiate their academic curiosity at a higher level of inquiry. A gift to the Honors Undergraduate Research Fund will help further our ardent support of Honors students’ creative and inquisitive academic pursuits.
For 44 years, Dr. Bob Frye taught English at TCU. In a tribute to his service and his commitment to Honors, friends and family have established the Bob and Alice Frye Scholarship that helps students in the Honors College with financial need. A gift to the Frye Scholarship is a great way to pay tribute to Dr. Frye and to ensure that an Honors education is available to students regardless of their financial situation.
